301-46 Difference between compacted density and tapped density

Compacted density refers to that compact the powder with external force and then measure the density of powder. Measuring the tapped density does not rely on external force, it only rely on the effect of gravity, the powder vibrates up and down, after the gap between the powder particles reduces, the measured powder’s density is called the tapped density tester. In the industry application, tapped density tester is more widely used. LABULK 0335 Tapped Density Meter is generally used. Compacted density is usually used in battery field.
